Radnor Lake - Moderate Hike - 6/12

HIKE STATS:
Meeting Place: Trailhead at Granny White Pike/Visitor Center entrance
Hike Distance: up to 4-5 miles
Estimated Hike Time: max 2 hours
Difficulty: Moderate

Optional dinner afterwards!

We'll start at the Granny White Pike entrance (West) parking lot and do a mixture of the trails. Pets are not allowed on the trails.

Note that on good weather days Radnor parking can get crowded. Please observe all traffic flow and parking rules posted.

Some instructions:

1. DO NOT enter Radnor Lake from the Franklin Road side. You must enter from Granny White Pike/Otter Creek Road because the road is blocked to vehicle traffic through the park. On maps Otter Creek Road looks like a through street for cars but it is not.

2. There is only one parking lot on the Granny White end so it won't be hard to find us. We'll be the crowd of people standing around.

3. There is not a sign for Radnor Lake on Granny White Pike. Look on the map for where Otter Creek Road intersects Granny White Pike and turn there.

I will be out of town working in Mexico this week. One of the regulars will lead everyone on a merry jaunt around Radnor.

Hi Michael, Which moderate trails do you hike on this meetup? South Lake, South Cove? Before I sign up I just want to make sure it's not to difficult for my level. I can hike 5 miles just not difficult trails. Thanks!

Melissa - We normally hike both Gainier Ridge and South Cove. Anyone not up to doing either or both ridges are welcome to hike the Lake, South Lake, or road. We regularly have people who opt to do only one ridge.
