1621 Lee Pike, Soddy Daisy, TN
The weekend of June 13-15* we've been invited back to volunteer on the Cumberland Trail's "Big Dig!" Over the weekend we'll work the trail, camp, tell ghost stories, and best of all, the Nashville and Chattanooga Hiking Meetups will officially come together!
The Cumberland Trail is a 300 mile linear trail which, when complete, will stretch from Chattanooga to The Cumberland Gap. 190ish miles are hike-able now, and the entire trail is being built by volunteers and seasonal workers.
We'll head to Soddy Daisy (near Chattanooga) on Friday afternoon/evening; work from about 8 to 5 on Saturday on the North Chickamauga segment of the trail; eat, camp, and laugh that night; then get up and work again Sunday, and head home Sunday afternoon/evening.

All food is provided, and let me tell you, it's always been yummy! We'll be staying at The Lutheran Camp, which has real beds in dorm style rooms (so bring linens, single size), or you can bring your own tent and camp under the stars!
If you don't think you're up to digging in the dirt, we also need volunteers to help in the kitchen! If you'd like to relax at camp during the day and cook dinners for the volunteers, please email me directly at [masked].
*We realize that June 15 is Father's Day, so if you need to spend Sunday with dad, we'd love to have you work just Saturday then head home.
