Mossy Ridge Trail at Percy Warner Park - moderate hike

HIKE STATS:
Time:  Hike starts promptly at 3:30 PM.
Place: Deep Well trailhead of Percy Warner Park
Distance: 4.5 total miles
Estimated Hike Time: 1.5 to 2 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Hike Leader: Bob S.
Notes: Dogs on a leash okay

The Mossy Ridge Trail is the longest of the three loop footpaths in the Warner Parks. It is the quietest and least used loop as well. An ideal training hike, the path leaves the Deep Well trailhead and winds through rich hollows and dry ridges of the Harpeth Hills, making frequent but never sustained elevation changes. Scattered in the woods are big trees and a spring-fed waterfall. At 4.5 miles, the Mossy Ridge Trail qualifies as a full-fledged hike that will not disappoint.

Thank you to Nashville Hiking Meetup and the participants in today's hike for helping me exceed the miles I needed for the Mayor's 100 Mile Challenge. It was a perfect finish to my goal.

Great way to end one and start a new year. Most people procrastinate and put off to next year what we did in less than 2 hours. Good Job everyone. :-)

I missed the message last night that said that the time of the hike had been changed. Lucky for me, two other hikers missed the message as well. We end up doing the hike together, with our three dogs, at 11 am. I still had a good time and look forward to hiking with the group.

Due to a work issue I will not be able to lead the hike.I have a couple of alternatives. Is there anyone currently posted that has done Mossy Ridge that wouldn't mind leading the hike.If not I can postpone the time to 3:30 pm.

Well I just arrived at Percy Warner and there is no rain. There may be a chance I dress appropriately because we may encounter a shower.
