Kimber! Organize a great trip meetup for Memorial Weekend! I'm ready to go!

Hey,my Name is Ron and I am 55,and out of shape and over weight,being transparent here,I would like to Work my way up to being able to go Hiking with a group,Love Camping and Love meeting new people,can some one tell me how to train and start on this new adventure,I am willing to Work real hard to do this,can anyone help or point me in the right direction,maybe someone willing to take me on as a apprentice ?

Hey Kimber! On Sunday, I don't have any long hikes planned for the Cane Creek trip. So, you could just hike on out to your car when you need to that morning....it's only about 2 miles out!

Hello Kimber---welcome to the MT Hiking Group. We haven't made it all the way out to the AT, but we have organized a trip to Mount LeConte. I expect we'll have a more trips to the Gatlinburg area in 2011.
