MongoDB with Derick Rethans

  • September 24, 2012 · 6:00 PM

NOTE: SPECIAL DATE - The day for this meeting will not be the second Tuesday of September due to the speaker coming from out of town. This is a special case and will only affect this one event. After this, we will return to our second Tuesday of the month meeting date.

MongoDB is an open source, document-oriented (no-SQL) database designed with both scalability and developer agility in mind.

Derick Rethans, an internationally recognized expert on MongoDB, will be visiting us in Nashville as part of a series of presentations around the Southeast in September.

Derick will be giving an introductory presentation covering the do's and don'ts, best practices and design schemas for MongoDB.

The venue for this event will be determined based on registration, which may be closed as the event approaches, so please register early.

Excellent presentation. My first exposure to NoSQL. It's a completely different animal from MySQL and Derick did a nice job explaining what and why as well as highlighting tradeoffs.
