It could not have been any closer............

Today the House voted on HB1191, the "Ag-Gag" bill, and we are saddened to say that the bill passed.

We lost by only ONE vote.

During the House floor discussion today, there was a very lengthy debate, and several amendments were presented by Representatives, including Jon Lundberg, Curry Todd,  Barrett Rich, and Susan Lynn.  All amendments, unfortunately, failed. Representatives who had valid concerns about the bill were Vance Dennis, William Lamberth, John Ragan, Johnny Shaw, Susan Lynn, and Mike Turner.  Rep. Tony Shipley spoke in favor of the bill, unfortunately.
......but we are not giving up.........

Farm Bureau lobbied heavily in favor of this bill, so if you have your insurance with them, you may want to rethink who you're giving your hard-earned money to.  Even if you don't have insurance with them, you can still contact them at 931-388-7872 to express your disappointment.
Also, please contact Gov. Bill Haslam at 615-741-2001 and and ask him to VETO this bill when it comes across his desk.
You guys did an AMAZING, STELLAR job and you should be disappointed, not discouraged. You spoke for those who couldn't and just because we lost the battle, doesn't mean we've lost the war. This is not over yet.
Thank you for all your hard and dedicated work!
Many thanks to Humane Tennessee PAC who helped with email information. If you so desire, please consider making a donation today to help them continue the work that they do.
