February Fusion Nashville Filmmakers Meetup at VIBE

  • February 16, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Join a film project! Meet your fellow filmmakers, decide where you want to contribute, and sign-up for a project you think could be fun.

A big thanks to fellow filmmaker, Mike Brown, for renting out his club to us again! We'll have a private setting to get to know each other and talk, with access to drinks next door at the bar. What's not to like?

This year, we are holding one Meetup per month. The rest of the time will hopefully be full of storytellers shooting various projects that you all dream up. These monthly Meetups will act as touch points to share stories, build your team, get feedback, and make friends. Toward the end of the year, I hope to screen our films.

For February's Meetup, I would like to see two things.

1) Decide on our film projects. We now have a hand full of scripts to vote on and talk through. Be sure to a) check them out and b) vote before you show up. (To add yours, contact me.)

2) Update our Meetup profiles. If we can match a photo and a name to your real face at the Meetup, then easily jog our memories of your skills or area you want to learn about, it will be so much easier to connect you to the right project and role. Also, don't be afraid to share your work if you have it and any social media links you may have.

If we continue to keep our attendance numbers high, we can do some fun things with sponsors, like test out new gear. Ultimately, we want stronger friendships that foster the best Nashville film making scene possible.

Don't miss it!

Hi everyone. My flight got delayed returning from California on the 16th and I wasn't able to make it to the meet up. I definitely want to participate on projects either as talent or possibly as part of the production team, and I'm wondering how I can sign up or submit myself for casting consideration?? Thanks!! Last night meeting was worth it. Picking a project was not easy. For they were all interesting and challenging in their own way. So, I would suggest to the projects leaders to schedule meetings with their group members to discuss their ideas further. It may seem that we have ample time to do this. Unfortunately we don't. So let's dedicate each day to getting closer to our goal........ Lights, camera and where the hell are my actors?

Thank you again, Jeff and the group for allowing me to present my idea. I really appreciate everyone who signed up for this project. I sent an email out re: the project, however, some of the emails came back as delivery failed. If I missed anyone, I created a temporary tumblr account with a contact page.: http://rwtd.tumblr.com/contact
I also posted all my random visuals (these help inspire me.) http://rwtd.tumblr.com/archive

Here's that Roadmap I mentioned. Only members should be able to view it. If you have suggestions to make it better, let me know.

OH hey! I forgot to put this on her sheet, and I'm so sorry, I cannot remember her name for the Daniel Webster story, but I have an Elvis Impersonator for her movie. :)

Can hardly wait to be there.... Also, I want to start a project based on some real life situations. I will need a team of writers to assist me. Thanks.

There were some questions about Kickstarter. Here is a successful project I'm involved in….http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roughcustomerfilms/mark-of-satan?ref=live

So are there actual scripts posted here? Or just the loglines? Thanks. :)

    January 25, 2014

    • Jeff D.

Just loglines for now for many reasons. You are welcome to contact the screenwriters individually through their profile to ask for the script to read. A couple do not have scripts yet, just treatments, so there are opportunities to write for our screenwriters out there.

      January 25, 2014

    • Steven M.

That's okay. I was just wondering. Thought I might have missed a link or something. :)

      January 25, 2014

  • Jeff D.

Remember to read the script list on the Pages link in the Menu under February Meetup and then vote for the one you want to produce or help with in the Poll under the More link. It's not too late to submit your log line!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
