I hope you finished February strong and enjoyed your first day of March. Have you met with your film team yet? Have you heard from your leader yet? If new or you missed our Meetups, have you reached out to the film team leaders of which films you want to help produce yet?
Derrick Harding, a senior journalism student at Belmont University, is potentially writing a piece on our group. Not sure if we will get him to an A+ but here's to blowing his mind on how awesome this group is rocking it!
Historic Location and Aerial Shots
Paul Mensing wanted us to know he has a "superb location for making films: the outside and interior of a
house from about 1890. [It has a] beautiful garden, right next to downtown
Nashville in Germantown."
He also has a quadcopter "for stunning pictures from above the scene." Keep in mind he has some costs for renting these, so these are not free, but resources to think about if you need them. Contact Paul at [address removed] or (615)[masked]
For those into reading, Focal Press (www.focalpress.com
) is offering our group 30% off all their books. Click on our Meetup page for the right link ... when it wins it's current battle.
Meetup.com Having Issues
Yes, we all have noticed the page is hitting errors, not loading, and generally working sporadically. Here's the deal. Someone felt it necessary to devote what little brains they have to attacking them with a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, which means that a ton of synchronized computers all over the world start hitting the target servers with so many requests that it crashes them. Yeah. Welcome to how the warfare of the future is waged.
At our next meetup, we will hear updates from all our films and hopefully find ways we can follow along online. I look forward to our graphic designers and photographers getting our logos, posters, and graphics done so we can put some visuals with these films! If that's you and you didn't sign-up, we need you now!
Our goal this year is to finish at least one short film. Period. If we finish all six or more, it will simple increase our collective awesomeness. Seriously, there are groups like ours across the country that have watched years past without a single film finished. I don't want to change our name to film watchers! We are filmmakers!
We can do this!
