I'm getting hungry just hearing about all the scrumptious food you all are bringing to the potluck cookout we're having on April 27th. If you have not RSVP'd yet, get on that! We're going to have a great time for sure.
Several of our film teams are still holding auditions for actors. One cool feature that Meetup offers is the ability for any of our leaders to setup a sub-Meetup for events just like this. Keep that in mind all throughout your production in case you want to use it for planning meetings, read-throughs, actual shoot days, test screenings, etc. The more you expose your process to others, the faster we can all learn.
Team RWTD has a casting call scheduled so if you are an actor or ever thought it would be cool to try, check that out.
Speaking of events, I know several of you have shared a desire to learn a certain style of shooting or a willingness to teach a class on scriptwriting or marketing your film.
We are tinkering with the idea of offering film education classes on various topics and need your input. Is that something you would be interested in? What topics would you want to see classes on?
Television Producer Credentials
Speaking of classes, last week, I finished my first level certification class to become a TV Producer. Fun! I will soon show you how to do the same. I will be sharing all the details at our next Meetup!
Most of our films are not ready to shoot yet, which means we are getting slightly behind our original plan. That's OK. Some have had to adjust leadership team members, had folks find out they cannot commit the time necessary, or lost momentum and need to rally their team again.
For Phase 6, I'm excited to see our incredible team members at work on props and brainstorming vFX, wardrobe, cars, and soundtracks. Truly inspiring!
Because I'm traveling so much lately (hello from Boston!), I'm thinking of holding some office hours style Google Hangouts for me to sync up with my team. I'm thinking of opening up some of them to everyone so you can listen in, so stay tuned.
Until next time, stay inspired and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.
