MANIK celebration, Friday, June 5, 2009, 9 pm

In celebration of Mia Calderon's new album, MANIK, The 5 Spot will host an eclectic night of smooth, saturated downtempo and electro-acoustic Brazilian grooves.

In addition to performances by Mia Calderon, Levi Weaver, and Trio Ginga, the event will also feature clothing & accessories by local designers Colleen Wandel of Say Ooh Designs, and Lalie Kavulich-Crist of Let Them Eat Cake; as well and artwork by Duncan McDaniel and Lark Calderon-Gomez.

A portion of all proceeds will go to the Beat Box Armada - a benefit to spread human-trafficking & domestic assault awareness through art.
