(First, a quick note: I know Fido is a bit loud and hard to hear with larger groups. I am trying to secure a new location with a private room, but have not had much luck just yet. But still working on it, so please hang in there with us. We'll find a better solution soon.)
Does the end of the Mayan “Long Count Calendar” predict an apocalyptic end to our planet on Dec. 21, 2012? Come Join us and Santos López, amateur Mayan researcher, as we examine the facts about Mayan history and culture, their astonishing astronomical discoveries, and the link between 80's New Age beliefs and the current hysteria about the meaning of 2012.
Santos López is a Venezuelan native who has called Nashville home since 1990. A Magna cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University and life-long amateur astronomer, he has served as president of Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society of Nashville from 1992 to 1995, and is currently on the board of directors.
