Welcome again to the Mystery/Suspense/Crime/Etc meetup! We've had an amazing turnout so far this year, and I'm so happy that this group has been so wonderful and supportive!

With that said, come one and come all! We've had a great mix of regulars and new writers, so I'm always happy to reunite with old faces and meet all you new people!

Dust off your crime, suspense, cop stories, whatever you've got that will fit in the genre! If anyone would like to bring something to share, you're more than welcome to. 12 copies should be enough. Because of time constraints, please limit it to 6 double-spaced pages.

If you don't have anything, that's perfectly fine as well! We need editors just as much as we need material to edit! Plus, we'll have discussion questions or an activity and great conversation all night long!

Okay, guys. I made the decision to go to the Prelude - a dirt late model race that I've wanted to go to for a number of years. While I love being with y'all, the race is at just about the same time as the meeting and waaaay up in Rossburg, OH, which is an hour north of Cincinnatti. I can't do both, so I'm putting GENIA in charge of y'all. She happily agreed to take the head zookeeper hat for the day so that the meeting could still go on. Have fun (but not too much, since you'll miss me!!)

    •  The meet was a little low-key and slow last night - the weather effect, I think. Personally, though, when my bit was read for reaction, reader reactions and comments were just what I was going for. I was worried that I wasn't building the suspense and tension the way I wanted. But I was pleased to discover that everyone thought I did it just right. I'm glad I came last night if only for that assurance.
