Our speaker this month is Beth Terrell-Hicks, author of the Jared McKean Mysteries and one of the coordinators of Killer Nashville.
Her first book, TOO CLOSE FOR EVIL, has received the following review by the magazine, New Mystery Review, “The stuff Hollywood movies are made of. Suspense, intrigue, hi-fi action—all the ingredients of a staple thriller are there in the correct proportions in TOO CLOSE TO EVIL…Terrell delivers a punching thriller that's pure Hitchcockian in suspense.”

If you want to know more about how a writer begins in the mystery genre, read her ABOUT THE AUTHOR.
She has compiled a wonderful section for writers under LINKS FOR WRITERS, which includes links for any type of writer but also links of particular interest to mystery/crime writers.
As a coordinator for Killer Nashville 2009 (celebrating mysteries, thrillers, and crime literature), she helps plan the three days of authors, forensics, contacts, and publishing.
There are four distinct event tracks for this August 14-16 event: meeting authors and free book signings that are open to the public; forensics/real CSI (for forensic junkies, non-writers and writers alike); the craft of writing/author panels (workshops and panels, writing for all types of fiction and nonfiction, writing for specific genres); and marketing strategies (for writers/all genres, the Internet and beyond).
