Agent and Publisher Pitch Workshop: 2013 edition

  • Aug 11, 2013 · 2:00 PM
  • Edmondson Pike Library

With the approach of Killer Nashville and their popular Agent/Publisher pitch seccessions,  the NWMG thought it'd be a good idea to repeat last year's 'Pitch' workshop to help anyone who is making their pitch at KN or anywhere else.

We will be starting at 2pm on Sunday, August 11 at the Edmonson Pike Library.

The workshop will start off with a discussion of what to expect in a pitch seccession, best practices to follow when making you pitch, and what to expect afterwards. We will also discuss query letters and how to use them to improve your pitch. In the final part of the meeting, we'll  practice pitching our novels or stories.

I'd encourage anyone who attends to prepare a pitch for their book. We will do some in front of the group and critique them. After all, practice makes perfect.

There isn't a charge to attend, but a donation to help pay for the room would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see everyone there!!

I think it was excellent for grassroots people. And Alan was very generous to give us his time.He prepared a nice handout package for everyone. His dedication to sharing knowledge and helping other writers is commendable.

Looking forward to this! I was planning on pitching to literary agents in August, so this is perfect timing!

Okay, I guess I'm unprepared for a pitch, but I would want it to reflect the serious consciousness of man in his quest to discover who he is and who he thinks he is...Must work on a pitch for my Memoir which is set in Nashville, called Ashville in the novel. I do love a challenge....

Thank the Lord I have a degree in Public Relations. Pitching isn't the problem, it's actually FINISHING the product so I can pitch it. Lol! :) Hopefully, I can make it to learn a thing or two.
