The Craft of Writing

GENERAL MEETING

Please bring 10 copies of your work (3-4 pages) to hand out to the group.

Beginning writers and published authors alike are welcome and may participate by reading their work and/or by gently critiquing.  When critiquing a writer's work, remember to give a positive comment followed by your critique and end with a positive comment.  Everyone should leave the meeting uplifted, encouraged to write, and comfortable in the group to read their work when they return next month.

I bid you Good Writing!

The energetic and talented group of 10 freely gave their critique which was beneficial both to the writer and to the group.

Moving to Charleston, SC. Would like to stay in touch and see if anyone would be interested in looking at an outline I'm working on for a story.

:_o ( boo hoo. SC is a beautiful part of the country. That doesn't mean you have to move away from us. (Tears) I hope it will be profitable and a good move professionally. I will make an announcement tonight at the meeting about your outline. Best of every good thing for you, Kevin.

Question: I won't be able to attend tonight, but is this meeting appropriate for writers of nonfiction as well? I am starting a nonfiction book and have never written nonfiction of the length I am planning, so I would really appreciate feedback as I progress through my work.

Nonfiction is welcome. See you hopefully next month.

It looks like I won't be there tonight, due to work's cruel nighttime scheduling. See you all next month, or next week at the Fiction group.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
