I thought it was a good meeting. I didn't realize other people couldn't find us. We waited too, but never thought to walk around. Tom and Steve had their books about the table and one of the group had a laptop. It was a well-lit area. I'm not one to be at any of the Writers Meetup meetings on a regular basis (too many other set schedules), but I'll certainly look around next time I go to one in a Panera Bread.

Sorry I missed the meeting. Wife and I were at the emergency animal hospital dealing with a poisoned animal.

Yuck, hope the dog is ok.

I would love to make this meeting. Panera's is a difficult place to find each other & to hear (for some of us). I know Shoney's has a room on Thompson Rd. in the back were another meetup meets. It's quiet and may be an alternate?

Oh, I understand! I was thinking it was a different Panera's! If you ever do meet-up in Donelson, that would be great. No problem either way. Good writing to you!

That makes more sense. I didn't recall us having much of a noise problem at ours.

Three of us showed up: Wyatt, Dana and me.. nobody else... what happened? Not very professional or considerate. Helloooooooooo????? We waited nearly an hour, thinking maybe everybody was just running late... but jeeeeeeeeesh.

There was 7 or 8 of us in the back of Panera where we always meet.. and we had our meetup. but we didn't think to look for newbys elsewhere in Panera.. so sorry..?!

Thom, sorry you missed the group. I normally organize but was out of town this week. Hope you'll try again next month. As Steve said, we tend to meet in the back.

I would love to attend these sessions, but the day/time are not very convenient for me. Is there any possibility this meetup will be moved to a weeknight at some point in the future? Or even a weekend day?

    September 19

    • Iscah

Not likely, Blake. But maybe we can do something similar at a different time.

Sorry it wasn't professional or considerate of someone to try to kill our dog.

    • Kim C.

I am so sorry about your dog.. I truly hope he is ok... I don't think Thom was directing his comment at you. I truly hope your dog is better. I love animals and hate to hear this - best to you.

A few of us are here. Where is everyone?

I'm still so tired from some sort of stomach flu... I hope to meet everyone next time!

Looking forward to meeting some new writers. Just moved back into the area. Have 26 books published and working on 3 new ones. Always looking for marketing tips...and friends.

I'm looking forward to it. By the way Steve, I finally got through to post on your new blog, but received a message that you were not taking comments. I kind of understand the nervousness of your publisher because I'm reading your book, but honestly, you can tell them I'm harmless and would only post positive things.
    See you all tomorrow.

It's been awhile since I attended, but this sounds like a good meeting.

I've lined up a guest speaker Tom Wood (tomwoodauthor.com) who will talk about direct sales. I've done a few events with Tom, and he's been very successful with setting up book signings. So I figured he could give us some good tips.

Tom Wood was a writer for the Tennessean for 36 years. He released his first novel last year and has some short stories in anthologies.

Ack I'm really bummed I can't make it to this!

Hey, guys, I completely goofed and forgot I'd be out of town this coming weekend at Imaginarium. You're certainly free to carry on without me.

Anyone want to volunteer to take lead?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
