I'm in LOVE with all things surrounding Natural hair and love to learn new styles, hair care tips, product reviews, and DIY products. I have begun experimenting with DIY recipes and have hopes to develop my own product line soon. I would love to learn how to loc, perfect braided styles, and mini twists. I look forward to networking with other naturals to learn about new products and Meetup opportunities. I hope to open a Natural Salon in the next year, so would love to network with other entrepreneurs to share experiences.
Maintaining moisture is probably the biggest challenge I face. I have been experimenting with different product combinations for some time, but have yet to find a commercial product I feel gives my hair all the moisture it needs. This is the main reason I began to develop DIY at home products. Another issue I have is keeping breakage to a minimum. Although I have great length retention, I feel like my ends seem to be much drier natural vs. using heat. This seems backwards to me, and I continue to research to find out how to better seal moisture into my ends. Lastly, I'm challenged with being comfortable with some simple go-to styles for the everyday working woman. I have perfected several likeable styles, but the amount of effort and time it takes to create them makes it difficult o maintain and get out the door in a hurry.
Hey hey my curly girls!! I'm a Cali native currently residing in Oakland; who's been searching for a Natural meetup group! I have been natural for over 15 years, but it wasn't until almost a year ago that I took a hiatus from heat styling.
