Spiritual Naturism has arrived! Revs. Annette and Edward (nudists
both!) and myself will again be there to welcome you to our June "NAKED
LUNCH" POTLUCK PICNIC.
It might be surprising to acknowledge, but it is unarguable that the human spiritual impulse was first expressed in the nude! Cunkuri, the most primal spirituality of the aboriginal tribal families who lived as hunter-gatherers for eons, was originally practiced in the warm climate of Africa without clothing. (See at end of notice for description of Cunkuri ritual) In order to capture this experience most authentically, some of our regular Cunkuri group have decided to join forces with the Center of Light church and the Spiritual Naturists of Michigan, a family-oriented nudist group, to do the ritual in the context of a fun family picnic. The Spiritual Naturists have a yahoo group site: http://groups.yahoo.c...
DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION
Nudity, like spontaneous vocalization and shaking dance, is "non-routine" and thus, even beyond its primal authenticity, it works toward achieving the goal of a "disconnect" with the world outside. (School-age children are welcome, but only when accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
The new location is the Center of Light spiritual center--and here's the inspiring website:
The Cunkuri ritual is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at noon. This will be a POTLUCK PICNIC (check out the venue as picnic-perfect!). Please bring yardgames, a frisbee, football. Anything to kick back and relax with.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!
EASY DIRECTIONS: The Center of Light is in Oakland County off I-75 one exit past Great Lakes Crossing (N. Baldwin Rd exit). The center is on Baldwin (5898 Baldwin Rd) but be careful as Baldwin veers left at the traffic circle. Then it's just 3/4 miles past where Baldwin becomes a dirt road on the left.
DONATION to the Center: Of course, the church would much appreciate a suggested donation of $7 per family ----but more or less as the difficult financial plight might dictate (i.e. since some may only be able to donate a couple), if others can donate anything over and above $7 such will be even more "humongously" appreciated by this delightful church fellowship.)
I hope all participants will be as enlightened by the experience as I expect to be.

Drumming, Dancing, and Dream-journeying are 3 words that describe the Cunkuri ritual experience performed to "Wake Up our Mother/Father God". The Cunkuri ritual has 4 parts:
THE HEALING INTENT phase All shamanism is about healing: personal healing, healing of another, even healing the planet. Gathering in circle, we briefly describe the healing intent each might have for the ritual. Thus, basically, you express your particular wish for a happy, healthy future.
THE ECSTATIC DANCE phase With original tribal music and in a spirit of frivolity, we dance, shake, embrace, spontaneously vocalize, and even transform into our totem animals. We disconnect from our modern "zoo" and reconnect with the human "wild environment", becoming one with nature as were the first peoples.
THE TRIBAL DREAM JOURNEY phase The facilitator may begin by offering a guided group ?embarkment? prior to each participant?s personal journey, along with appropriate imagery, to facilitate the transition to the free dreaming state. Then, once engaged, images can spontaneously float across one?s mental landscape, including attempts to commune with spirit entities, all with the underlying (but not explicitly focused) goal of receiving guidance related to one?s healing intent (or, on occasion, the stated healing intent of a fellow participant). In effect, we are ?daydreaming?, but also acknowledging this process as having a profound potential for deeper spiritual healing.
THE TRIBAL DREAM SHARING phase We return to our circle and describe our dream imagery and stories, and reflect on their connections to our various healing intents. The fact that communal sleeping frequently fosters common dream imagery among the participants is a fascinating phenomenon that has occurred within the original tribes for thousands of years. Of course, such common imagery often carries large import for the entire group.
