(SLIGHT CHANGE: We'll be meeting at 6:15 at Attilas's Restauant - Carryout Side at 2705 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA 22204. This is just across from Pike Park. I will check Pike Park in case not everyone gets the message. If possible, come a few minutes early for extra time to eat. If you don't want to eat, that is fine too.) As summer draws to a close and chimney swifts have finished raising their young, these fascinating aerial acrobats begin to congregate in communal roosts prior to their migration in the fall. Some roosts may consist of an extended family group of a half a dozen birds or so, but the larger sites can host hundreds or even thousands of swifts! We will meet at a location in South Arlington to observe one of these larger sites as the swifts come in to roost. (

http://avgreenteam.wo...) After the swift display comes to an end, we can get some dinner at either Manee Thai or Attila's (Turkish). If you want to come for dinner and have a preference between the two, indicate so in your rsvp.
