Disc golf provides an opportunity to enjoy a fun sport in the comfort of the woods. Disc golf courses are usually shaded and are largely free of pesticides, fungicides, rodenticides, and herbicides.
Plus, IT IS FREE
It is easy to learn and fun to play.
Did I mention it is free?
Disc golf is played by the same rules as regular golf. You throw a disc (looks like a Frisbee) into baskets that have chains that catch the disc. Discs can be purchased in sporting goods stores or online. Used discs can be found easily on ebay.
I am not a disc golf expert, but I can provide basic instruction.
After disc golf, we can head to nearby La Union, under cover of a separate meetup.
**We will meet at the first hole, near the restrooms just in from the parking lot.*** This is a change from what I first said about meeting in the small parking lot on the west side of N. Carlin Springs Road, just north of where it goes over Route 50. However, you can still park there and walk over, possibly saving on driving. This spot is next to Four Mile Run Trail, so it may be easily reached by bicycle. I will send my cell phone number to those who rsvp.
