As part of the 2013 solar and green home tour we will visit two homes in Takoma Park, MD. We will start from the metro station, tour the two homes and then finish the afternoon with some coffee and conversation at Bread and Chocolate in "downtown" Takoma Park. For more information about the tour go to Solar Tour homepage.
These homes feature highly energy, cost and resource efficient (both the building of and living in) features, including solar panels, energy efficient lighting and appliances, high efficiency Vermont Castings catalytic wood stove with salvaged local wood, straw bale, living roofs, biodiesel-fueled radiant floor heat (and a hand pump to fill diesel cars!), organic vegetable and fruit tree garden, retention pond, pervious pavers on the driveway, rainbarrels, etc.,
I will send contact cell number to Yes rsvp's on saturday morning. Hope to see you saturday!
