Corn Maze in The Plains, Va. (5th annual!)

The hills will soon be ablaze with color, the pumpkins harvested, the days shorter and crisper. Tis the season to visit the Circle of Seeds corn maze in The Plains, Virginia! This will be our fifth annual visit to this farm - which features America's first organically grown corn maze. We'll split up into small groups and enter the maze armed with a crayon and paper. At stops along the way, you'll attempt to answer fun questions with your group. Answer the questions correctly and solve the maze. But answer them incorrectly and get lost!

Bring food and drink to share because we'll picnic at tables in the shade by 11:45 before navigating the maze. Food is available for purchase, including organic burgers.  *Bring water to carry in the maze in case you are stuck in there for a while!*

Also, we can check out the farm animals, browse country items in the farm store and enjoy a hayride.

The maze normally takes approx. an hour and a half to navigate.  If you need to leave soon afterward make sure to communicate that to those with whom you are sharing a ride because some people may want to stay longer to shop for pumpkins, etc.

Admission is $9/person for ages 13 and up. Print out coupon from Circle of Seeds website for $1 off admission.

The Plains is located in Fauquier County, Virginia, just off I-66.

For those who want to carpool, we'll leave from Vienna Metro (South side, entrance to walkway) at 11:00am. Don't be late! Expect a ride of about 35 min. from Vienna. For those who are driving to the farm directly, meet us at 11:45 in the picnic area.

Lastly, be sure to dress for the weather. Event will be postponed to Sun. Oct. 16 if rain.

I'll email directions and my cell phone number to all Yes RSVPs on the Friday before the event.  Also, see link below for directions to the farm.

Get ready for a fun day in the country!

Great fun, though just like last year, I wish they had an adults-only price. $9 (or even $8 with the coupon) really doesn't make sense when 99% of the activities included in the ticket price are for children. Other corn mazes in the DC Metro area charge $5...
