New Meetup: Farmers, Warriors, Builders: The Hidden Life of Ants

Announcing a new Meetup for nature lovers' meetup!

What: Farmers, Warriors, Builders: The Hidden Life of Ants

When: July 10,[masked]:45 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

The National Museum of Natural History stays open late on most summer nights. Take advantage of that opportunity and join Nature Lovers for an exploration of this fascinating exhibit. If there is time, we'll check out other exhibits before the museum closes at 7:30. After closing we'll walk to a nearby restaurant to get to know each other over dinner.

The museum is located approx. 500 feet northeast of the Smithsonian Metro stop along the National Mall.

From the NMNH website: Ants dominate the small-scale world. We may seldom notice them, but ants affect their ecosystems as much as humans do.

And much like us, ants achieve domination by being social creatures. They must cooperate with each other to meet their basic needs for food, shelter, and defense. How they do this can look both strikingly familiar and bizarre.

Meet me at the front entrance to the museum in front of the big elephant.

I'll send my cell phone # to Yes RSVPs about a day before the event.
