"Fossils, Eagles, Herons and History Trip"

Join an interpretive naturalist for a tour of the Potomac shoreline at Westmoreland State Park. This trip is primarily for those who are attending the camping trip but those who want to do a day trip from DC are welcome to join us. Westmoreland State Park is located 2 hours south of DC on Virginia's beautiful Northern Neck.

Paddle the Potomac while viewing wildlife and scenic bluffs. Hear history come to life. Collect fossils along the shore. Enjoy the sun and water while getting a workout!

You will receive a quick lesson before starting out. Lifejacket will be provided.

One ($19) or two ($25) person kayak. $10 if you bring your own. Trip lasts two hours.

Meet at the Osprey Boat House before 11am.

Details from website:
Pre-register by calling[masked]-PARK at least one day prior to the trip. Park guests wishing to pre-register for available slots may do so at the contact station. Transfers and refunds are unavailable after the transfer deadline date. A cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel your trip more than seven days prior to trip. Refunds will not be made within seven days of the trip. Refunds will be made, however, if the trip is canceled because of small craft advisories or dangerous weather. If the park cancels the kayak trip for any reason, Virginia State Parks will not waive cancellation penalty fees for any overnight cabin or camping reservation.
