Announcing a new Meetup for nature lovers' meetup!

What: Hike followed by pick-your-own berries and pumpkins

When: October 10,[masked]:00 AM

Shady Grove Metro Station
15903 Somerville Dr
Derwood, MD 20855

Join Nature Lovers for a hike at Black Hill Regional Park followed by a pick-your-own outing at Butler's Orchard. Both locations are in the Germantown area, close to I-270.

Wear comfortable clothes. Bring water and a snack.

We'll meet at the East entrance to Shady Grove metro at the end of the Red Line at 10:00. For those who are driving, the east side is reached from I-270 to I-370. If you are local to the Germantown area, feel free to meet us at the parking lot for the Black Hill RP Visitors Center at 10:30.

Soon afterward we'll carpool to Black Hill RP and do a 2 mile hike. The trails are fairly easy with some rocky areas. After that little workout, we'll drive to the orchard for apple picking and browsing the gift shop. It shouldn't take longer than an hour unless we want to linger. Bring a bucket or purchase one for about $1.25. Sorry, no pets allowed at the orchard.

Indicate in your RSVP if you are willing to drive others.

(Raindate is Sunday Oct. 11).

$4/19/lb. for Red Raspberries, or $3.69/lb. if you pick 3 or more lbs.
$8/container for flowers
59 cents/lb. for pumpkins

I'll send my cell phone # to Yes RSVPs a couple of days before the event.
