Re: Is Anonymous the Future?

Illegal doesnt necessarily equal wrong so i think that was an unneccessary antecedent. And they haven't gotten their ass? Using their high end skills to shut down people is a serious thing. It requires timing, knowledge and ovaries. And remember Wikileaks and how Julian was railroaded by our government and the corporate interests that hold too much sway here? Yeah Anonymous has been consistently against this, a moral action. As for the Tea Party, they are morally wrong, show me how they're not. You can't because you know as well as I do that it would not be true. They are bigots, reactionaries, klansmen, and a whole host of anti progress jackbooted thugs support them lest we forget. Is anonymous right absolutely? Hell no but they have been a voice for the voiceless, a nebulous weapon against the powerful and I'm surprised that you don't see that. Cyber bullies? Next you're going to defend the poor police against the Occupy Movement. The places and people Anonymous hits have clout, money and resources. They are no more bullies than Robin Hood and when a person "works within a system, it is not they who change the system, it is that the system changes them"-Immortal Technique. As a woman, I'm sure you understand what it feels like to be disenfranchised and left forgotten, no?

Not only did they get several politicians to back off, they educated people, and got people excited over the power they have as an individual. That can cause long term change, to help an entire population to feel empowered to fix democracy and find long-term solutions.

If they get caught well I would call them heroes and your guilty of false equivalency which surprises me. The Tea Party people are wrong morally, intellectually and historically. Anonymous makes mistakes this is true but they are on the side of good. Bear in mind that I'm steeped in a more militant mindset than you by virtue of being a second class citizen in this country that I feel little allegiance to, my forebears are Che Guevara, Martin Luther King Jr., Miyamoto Musashi and José Martí. I accept the need for "guerilla" tactics. Other intellectuals can run and hide in their minds but if the corporate led psychopaths finally attain enough power, they're next and that's just history

Would you condemn them paying the price for what they may say is civil disobediance? How would you feel about another annonymous group that was inspired by Tea Party principles and shut down sites they didn't like?
