JavaScript Hack Night

JavaScript Hack Night

This is a chance for JavaScript developers of all skill levels to get together, work on, patch, and release open source code, ask questions, get help with tricky bugs, and spend time coding JavaScript! New to JavaScript and/or not sure what to work on? We've got a fun activity planned!

It's Battle Time!

Put your JavaScript skills to the test by creating a robot tank to fight!

http://fightcodegame.com/

Teach your tank the maneuvers and techniques required to earn the title of Supreme JavaScript Tank Overlord! This activity is fun for coders of all skill levels and requires no environment setup, although you do need a Github account to login.

I've never been to any of the MEET UP activities, i'd like to go. May I go tomorrow? how much is the cost &is there anything else I should know

    August 4, 2013

    • Zach L.

Hey Tia! There is no cost for the meetups. For this specific meetup it would be helpful to know a little bit of JavaScript for the group activity, but you can always attend as a spectator or join a team!

Literally after 20 years of doing web development, I feel like I am back in school again trying to figure out jquery.mobile. Developing an app that needs to work both online and off so have launched into getting up to speed on HMTL5. Could use some guidance in a couple areas starting with deciphering jquery.mobile's gargantuan .css. How the heck do you customize it and get it to operate locally? Here's my mainstay web publication: http://evworld.com.

You can also use ThemeRoller to create a theme: http://jquerymobile.c...

Zach... I found the uncompressed version, but when I try to use a localized version on my dev.evworld.com web site, the icons vanish, even though I've saved a copy of both the black and the white version in an image/ folder to mirror that on the jquerymobile site. I'll keep plugging away and look forward to meeting up next month.
