    New to JQuery and this breifing was a good start. Wouldn't mind more of the same or more on AJAX.
    Thanks

    Host: CF Webtools - Curt Lovegrim, Director of Sales and Marketing
    Technical Speakers: John from http://appendto.com and Eli

    Curt began the meeting with a brief intro explaining what CF Webtools does. After the CF Webtools introduction was complete he began a presentation discussion on the main reasons why customers choose to navigate away from vendors. The primary reason is due to presumed or actual indifference from the vendor. Valid points and something to keep in mind for all customer conversations.

    Topic of technical meeting: jQuery - Back to Basics.

    Eli and John shared the meeting demonstrating many uses for jQuery. Maint points were:

    * How does jQuery affect the DOM
    * Events and Selectors
    * Call back functions
    * Binding
    * Delagation
    * Usage for executable AJAX within JQuery
    * Usage of the JQHXR event.

    The meeting started on time and was well planned. The speakers were professional and offered value during each presentation.

    Great presentation. I consider myself to be somewhat of a jQuery expert but I still picked up a thing or two. Glad I attended!

    I enjoyed the presentation and the topic was appropriate for me since I'm doing a project using jQuery and learning as I go. It was probably a little fast, but that was okay--I still picked up a lot of things that were useful to me.

    Hi Naomi,

    Not at all, you'll be more than at home here. There's a number of resources out there appendTo (whom I work for) has put together http://learn.appendto.com with some starter content. (Everyone please feel free to pitch additional resources)

    Well I'm learning javascript right now and I put up an app I made on G+ and someone showed me jQuery stating it would actually be better to use for a dragndrop app than javascript. I'm curious about jQuery as I've just recently started to reading about it. How advanced is this group? Am I in over my head being so new? I've only been learning since 2009 and I'm try to learn bits of all languages to see which I want to focus on more currently.

    No problem, welcome to the group! Is there anything in particular that drew you to our group, or anything in particular you were looking to learn?

    Hi all, I'm new and will be attending my first meetup in Feburary schedule permitting. I'm also relatively new to web development so pardon my silence as I'll be most likely in awe of everyones knowledge. :)

    Is there an agenda set up for this one?
