Sunday morning "crap I didn't know was around here" ride.

I am trying to force myself to get the bike back together.  So, since I can't make Thunder on the Strip on Saturday I figured I would take the day to get the damn thing done.

That said, I am ready to put some miles on.  I have not planned a route yet but will plot out something in the 100 mile range. I am hoping to make a few stops at some of my favorite sites around the area. We will stop somewhere for lunch around noon and maybe for a beverage at the end of the ride.

I am open to suggestions if you know of some scenery that other riders might not know about.  I will update my plan by Friday.

Thanks to J for the impromptu ride. The 9-11 memorial at the Eastlake Boulevard of 500 Flags was impressive.. Here is some video of the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LZAg6KxdUA&list=UU_TRO7BUrOWeB66jm4j8B-w&index=1&feature=plcp

This was my first mass parade route ride and found it really isn't my thing, but would do it again to be among friends.

A special thanks to J for making me and Terry welcome, and the lack of cardboard V-twins and duct tape for our scoots. :)

Well it is looking like it will be a bit brisk out today. I will plan on a shorter route and play it by ear and let those that show up decide on the ride.

There is an interesting street out past RT44 (Off of Girdled Rd.) called Cascade. It is one of the nicest country streets around that runs next to the river. It also has some VERY interesting houses, as one of them looks as if Wilma and Fred Flintstone are the inhabitants! (I do refer to it as the Flintstone House to friends. Some nice coiuntry roads, and a park next to the river out that way that are good for riding and also a nice country bar/restaurant (Capps) that has decent food.
Just an idean for ya!! :-)
