Australia / 2009 / 80 min / Color / English / Yiddish
Recommended for ages 14+

On the surface, it would seem that Mary (Toni Collette), a portly eight-year-old girl from the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a morbidly obese, middle-aged Jewish New Yorker suffering from Asperger?s Syndrome, would have little in common, but over the course of twenty years, the unlikely pen pals exchange letters discussing everything from taxidermy, trust, pets, religion, obesity, autism, agoraphobia, and alcoholism, to just about any other topic that comes to mind as they sit down and put pen to paper. Don't miss this stop motion masterpiece of true friendship and acceptance.

Center for Puppetry Arts

You will need to prepay via Paypal by June 30th so that I can purchase the tickets. This will ensure the event has not not sold out and that we can sit together or as close together as possible. This is a one time screening and I don't remember this venue being especially large. I will add 50 cents for Paypal costs. The total cost per ticket is $7.50.

Don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions.

See you there!
