Announcing a new Meetup for Movies, Museums, Music and More!
What: Atlanta Symphony Orchestra - Verdi's Requiem
When: Sunday, April 25,[masked]:15 PM
Woodruff Arts Center Piazza
1280 Peachtree St
Atlanta, GA 30309
If you've always wanted to attend the symphony and never had nerve ...because it's too dry, too boring, too zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ...then this performance of Verdi's Requiem Mass is the perfect for you! It's a Sunday afternoon performance so no tux or gown necessary. Heck, wear jeans if you want. Or can dress up in your Sunday best. It's up to you.
If you think classical music is boring, you've probably been listening to the wrong stuff. This is NOT music to snooze by. AT&T hold music and that stuff you here at the spa has given classical music a bad rep. It's alive, thrilling and filled with storm and stress.
First ...it's a mass for the dead. Second ...it has sections with titles like "Dies Irae" which means "Day of Wrath" and lyrics like "Day of wrath and doom impending/Heaven and earth in ashes ending". I mean ...come on. This is not manicure music.
