We're breaking from our usual Third Tuesday approach this month for a special second event. Kristen Taylor, a former NetSquared DC member, is back in town Tuesday, September 30th to discuss the Knight Foundation's News Challenge. They fund innovation in online journalism and communities. The News Challenge is an annual contest with roughly $5 million in prizes for innovative digital delivery ideas. Check it out at http://newschallenge.....

This year, they've set up an incubator site, called the Garage, where everyone can work through their ideas before applying to the contest.

Our speaker, Kristen Taylor, is the Online Community Manager for the Knight Foundation. She attended DC Netsquared events when she worked for PBS doing social media last year. She thinks the Cheesetique cheese shop in Alexandria's Del Ray is amazing, and frequently blogs about food on
her personal site, kthread.com.

Kristen will present on the News Challenge and detail how you and your organization can apply and take part in the fun.
