Dear friends,

The weekend is upon us. Rest up, because at 7pm Tuesday night (July 15th) we'll gather at Affinity Lab to meet, greet and swap summer war stories. We'll also hear from longtime NetSquared DC member Jake Brewer. Jake will walk us through the wide range of nonprofit resources at Idealist.org. Just like NetSquared is an offline hub for social change, Idealist is one of the go-to sites to exchange resources, ideas, and any other world-changing necessities.

You can RSVP at http://netsquared.meetup.com/2/calendar/7747018/

Affinity Lab is located at:
[masked]th Street NW
2nd Floor (above The Diner in Adams Morgan)
Washington, DC 20009

About Jake:

Jake is an entrepreneur and "translator" who serves as the Director of Partnerships for Idealist.org. In his work, Jake seeks to connect strategic networks in the business, nonprofit, and social media sectors to help transition more organizations' good intentions into effective and responsible action.

In his diverse career, Jake has at different times spent two years at the United States Naval Academy - subsequently graduating from Vanderbilt University, served as a consultant in the Middle East oil sector, designed and implemented international service-learning programs for universities, conducted community development projects from central Jamaica to Mongolia, and prior to Idealist served as the executive director of Break Away® - the national organization through which 40,000 college students connect with nonprofits and spend "alternative spring breaks" learning to become active citizens each year.

About NetSquared DC:

Washington, DC's social changemakers and technological forerunners come together at Net Tuesday events to mix, swap stories and ideas, build new relationships, and reinforce the online NetSquared
(http://www.netsquared.org) community.

Feel free to bring any promotional materials you'd like to hand out. We'll start at 7pm with snacks, drinks and mingling. The presentation begins at 7:30 and goes until about 9pm.

Yours in Organizing,
Matt Stempeck
