Pimp My Nonprofit - Next Tuesday 8/21 at 7pm

From: user 3.
Sent on: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 5:03 PM

If you haven't yet, please RSVP for next week's NetSquared Meetup, where we'll team up with Our Voices Together to Pimp My Nonprofit.

Tuesday, August 21, 2007, 7pm (for food, drinks, mingling - presentation starts at 7:30)
Affinity Lab
[masked]th St, NW 2nd Floor
Washington , DC 20009

"Pimp my Nonprofit" is our regular bi-monthly brainstorm session. This time, we're helping Our Voices Together take their tech strategy and online communication efforts to the next level.

Through this case-study oriented conversation, everyone will have a chance to learn vicariously from some of the leading technology and communications experts in DC. Thus we encourage any consultants and geeks in the audience to show up and strut your stuff.

About Our Voices Together:

Founded by 9/11 families and friends, Our Voices Together helps empower individuals to take actions that diminish the hatred fueling terrorist tactics. We bring together organizations and individuals who choose to foster greater understanding, deal with underlying issues and negate the popularity of extremists.

Join us August 21st to meet, swap stories and ideas, and build new relationships.

And a big thanks to this month's sponsor:

Reconnecting The Circle is now accepting bids for the redevelopment of their website

The mission of Reconnecting The Circle (RTC) is to encourage people to learn about contemporary Native American people and cultures, and to develop a more meaningful and complete perspective on Indian Country*. Last year, RTC launched with a National High School Essay Contest to high schools in all 50 states. We awarded 10 students (5 Native and 5 non-Native) $2,500 each in scholarships. We are looking to improve our website, offer additional programs, and incorporate Web 2.0 technologies to reach and retain our audience of students, teachers, parents and others interested in learning more about Indian Country. Please contact Danielle Gaines at[masked] for more information.

* Indian Country is the collective reference for Native American Tribes and communities, which include American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians.

The DC Netsquared Meetup is a production of EchoDitto and Care2.
