NetSquared DC Message Board › Looking for Presenters - April 19, April #Fail Day
NetSquared DC is looking for a few presenters who aren't perfect in every way (not our usual style) to talk about their big #FAIL.
For our next Third Tuesday event, April 19, it's April #Fail Day, where we will have 5-6 presenters willing to talk about their failures: the things that didn't work or go as planned.
This event will be modeled on the FAILFaire concept, pioneered by Katrin Verclas of Mobile Active. For more information about FAILFaire, see www.failfaire.org:
While we often focus on highlighting successes in our field, it’s no secret that many projects just don’t work – some don’t scale, some aren’t sustainable, some can’t get around bureaucratic hoops, and many fail due to completely unanticipated barriers. At FAILFaire we want to recognize the failures: the pilots that never got anywhere, the applications that are not delivering, the projects that are not having any measurable impact on the lives of people, and the cultural or technical problems that arise.
We'll follow the Ignite-style format of some of our past events, with each presenter getting 5 minutes to address our audience. If you're willing to humble yourself for our group, please e-mail us. We'll then be back in touch with more information, along with our groundrules for making our April #FAIL Day event a helpful and productive discussion -- not a failure.
If you don't want to present, but would like to attend, please reserve your spot now by RSVPing today, as we expect another full house this month. Who doesn't want to hear about what went wrong?!
