Hello whoever receives this message.

It was me and Peter Deitz that ran the old group. Peter no longer lives in Montreal and I have no real interest in organizing it at this point so it is completely in your hands. I don't think anyone will stand in your way whatever your plans are.

Good luck.

Hello Elijah and Net Squared Montréal,

I'm the coordinator of Commun-IT.ca in Montréal and I'm also the lead organizer for a large community tech event called "Tech-Works" that will be happening in Montréal this Friday.  You can find more info about the event here.

I've been thinking about the need for a Net Squared organizer in Montréal for a while now, and last week had a chance to do some brainstorming with Tierney from TechSoup Canada...

I would like to propose that we take the "organizing committee" approach to Net Squared in Montréal rather than the single organizer approach.  I would be happy to be a member of this committee and I would also be happy to recruit some other folks from our event this Friday if there are no objections to that approach.

Please speak-up before this Friday if you would prefer a different approach to getting Net Squared kicking again in Montréal.

If I don't hear any concerns by Friday then I will try to form a small organizing committee at this Friday's event.

Thanks for any feedback and take care,

Spencer

Hi Changemakers,

This group is currently without a lead organizer. I'm reaching out to you in hopes of finding a replacement to help manage the group. Please read the remainder of this email, and reach out to me if you would like this volunteer position. I am the Community Curator for NetSquared globally and I will be happy to meet with the new Organizer to ensure a smooth transition.

NetSquared's mission is to create consistent opportunities for local community members to come together to share ideas, ask questions, and collaborate around using technology for social benefit. Thank you in advance for helping keep this mission alive.

NetSquared provides support for all Local organizers in the way of:

  • Google Group - as a way to be connected to all organizers around the world via email
  • Organizers Handbook -  this is a wiki-based tool that we are always adding to as a resource for organizers in our network and beyond
  • A local organizers page on the NetSquared platform

NetSquared also covers the cost for our group to use this Meetup.com site. As the organizer you will be moved to the lead role for this group and will be able to elevate other members to organizer or assistant organizer status to help you.

Check out more information about NetSquared Local and organizing events at the NetSquared local FAQ. And if you are interested in stepping up to lead the group, please let me know! I can be reached at [address removed]
