Liam Ghershony, Phun
Phun is a 2D physics game that uses interactive physics to create animations, simulations, artwork, and narratives. Combining problem solving with creativity and artistry, Phun is educational, entertaining, and addictive. Liam Ghershony, a 12-year old Phun addict, will demonstrate how he uses the game, share what he's learned, and explain how the Phun community works.
Beyond the First Person Shooter, Guido Vieira
Guido Vieira has over a decade of experience in the gaming industry, most of it working with Ubisoft, and is now the gaming consultant at Exvisu. His presentation will trace the movement beyond "First Person Shooter" games (featuring mindless violence) toward games that focus on user empowerment, creativity, and social connections. Guido will also touch on current trends, such as social gaming and Massively Multi Player games, and how they are changing the industry.
Playing it forward one act of kindness at a time, Lisa McKenzie
Lisa McKenzie is the founder of Deserving Divas, an organization for women who gather at events and weekend getaways to celebrate the Diva within. Lisa will be presenting Akoha, a social platform where the power of play can make the world a better place. Lisa will share her Akoha experience as a member of the community and illustrate how carrying out simple and thoughtful ?missions? continues to shape the world around her.
