Great Big Gumbo of Entrepreneurial Awesomeness

Join us to hear about the buzz surrounding the storm of entrepreneurial activity that is about to hit New Orleans. Hear about the week of events, seminars, and workshops planned for the upcoming New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, the efforts to attract more passionate people (and future Net2NO'ers) to New Orleans through the NOLABound initiative, initiatives on the horizon from 504ward and more!

But I'm no entrepreneur - why should I go?

You say that now, but we all have ideas...some of them are better than others. Many of us don't know how lucky we are to live in a city that embraces and encourages entrepreneurs. And if you were unaware of the programs, benefits and resources that are available to all of us - here's your chance to get school'ed.

Just think...

You could be tomorrow's next big thing;

or

You may work for someone who has made the jump from simple concept to full blown startup;

or

You might provide exactly the skillset needed to elevate someone else's idea with your technical, marketing or business prowess.

    LONG VERSION:
    The most important thing, I know that was said at this meeting was that by Peter Bodeheimer. And that was it is "not enough" to talk about the great food, culture & fun in New Orleans, but the GOOD PAYING JOBS.

    In fact, Peter said essentially, "stop talking about the food, fun and culture, because the rest of the world already knows about, has already tasted the food and loved it and has already enjoyed the culture as well. But just like anywhere else, GOOD PAYING Jobs cause people to "stay" in NOLA, not just "visit" NOLA.

    Aside, I only see two recent things, Movie Tax Credit and Software Tax Credits that have really made an impact to good paying jobs. The general perception and from all the "studies" is that NOLA has a low cost of living, but can anyone give me a list of examples? I have never seen that in housing, schools, taxes or especially insurance. * If NOLA really had a low cost of living, why the need for these movie and software tax credits?

    This was yet another awesome meetup of the Net2NO group. This also seemed more like the meetings of old. The vibe was reminiscent of the back of the Bridge Lounge.

    Really enjoyed hearing about the exciting things coming up for entrepreneurs in the city. But that moderator WAS a bit much, though ;)
