Thanks to all of you who attended last nights Meetup: NeoGeography and the GeoSpacial Web Experience starring Andrew Turner.
Even though the topic appeared at first glance to only appeal to a very specific niche, last nights presentation had a little bit for everyone.
We saw practical applications such as mapping a scenic bike route, to the more zealous aggregation of SMS data to create a real world representation of violence and unrest in the Congo. Here in New Orleans, we could see how this would be relevant from a City planning point of view and how such tools could impact and potentially improve the upcoming Master Plan, while nationwide we saw how TwitterVoteReport allowed voters to share their experiences in real time.
So thanks again to all of you who made last night our largest Meetup to date and of course special thanks to Andrew Turner, Alan Gutierrez, and Francine Stock who made it all possible!
If you simply just can't get enough of Mr. Turner, he will be speaking today at noon at the Tulane School of Architecture. For more info, check out www.Net2no.com
