Wow. Last night we had about 60 people pack into the Bridge Lounge to hear Michael Hecht of GNO Inc talk about the great things they are doing with the Digital Media Alliance. With the resources of GNO INC and the sheer numbers and talent of NET2NO's 132 members (and growing) share a common goal of showing the world that New Orleans is truly the epicenter of New Media, be it film, animation, Interactive, Social Entrepreneurship, you name it.
A special thanks to Michael, along with Andrea Bland and Jenny Hunter from GNO Inc for their support, David Wadleigh form Computeriffic for sponsoring the festivities, and to Brian Bordainick for sharing the inspirational story of his work with the 9th Ward Field of Dreams, something which we will be delving into further during the coming weeks.
With the holidays over and Mardi Gras season upon us, SXSW will be here in no time. Our New Orleans takes SXSW by Storm trip is just one part of what we hope to accomplish this year and thanks to Chris Schultz, we now have a wonderful sign-up form on the www.net2no.com website to assist us with are planning:SXSW Sign Up Form
Please, if you are interested in attending SXSW fill out this form so we can determine a headcount and also figure out who can help with the planning. We are looking at getting tier 2 grants from the city which will help subsidize some of our travel and party expenses but need an accurate headcount and help in planning in order to pull this off. The goal is to have 30 Members attend and subsidize 50% of their total ticket, travel and accommodations.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make 2008 so successful and we are looking forward to an even better 2009!
