Good meeting and thanks Kirk for your presentation. If anyone else is interested in learning more or discussing Blackbaud products, there is a Vancouver meetup group you may be interested in joining.

first intro to Raiser's Edge - it was really good to learn more about the receipting function. I will implement a few changes after what we learned regardless.

As requested, I checked on what we tend to use for displaying Org Name in cases where there are contacts involved.

Key Indicator, as mentioned as well in the session, works.

    The other way we do this is: { IF Organization_Name = "" "{ MERGEFIELD Addressee}" "{ MERGEFIELD Organization_Name}"

Basically "Organization Name" is created from the Relationship on the Contact, so if there is no org name, there is no contact, and therefore use the addressee. If there is a contact, addressee will be for the contact, so use the Org Name.

Thanks for sharing you experience, Kirk. Excellent review of CRA requirements for all tax receipts. I appreciate the concise directions on how to use RE mail>receipting feature which is sadly lacks functionality beyond consolidating receipts.

Is this meant to give you knowledge for personal taxes or for businesses?

This is geared for non profits to optimize their use of Raiser's Edge - especially in preparing year-end tax reciepts.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
