This Thursday, women will cut off the ties of the men in the Rathaus, and the Dreigestern will begin their chaotic rule over the Streets of Cologne as anarchy, parades, political mayhem and random kissing becomes the norm.
Meanwhile, here in Jeckedelphia, ever Quaker will be going Quackers at Brauhaus Schmitz, where there will be Koelsch, Kaos, Kostumes and perhaps Kissing (at your own risk, of course), while the music of Karneval rocks the joint.
Costumes are not required, and can be simple (a clowns nose, a wig) or complicated (sky's the limit) but our Hosts Doug and Kelly add that everyone who comes in costume is guarenteed one complimentary Koelsch beer. Even you non-Koelsch drinkers can't turn down a free one. And why should you? :-) Did I mention that for every Koelsch you drink, you get entered into a raffle for a Fruh KEGERATOR with a Kölsch kranz, Glassware, and Taphandle!!
The Brauhaus recently opened the Brauer Bund Room - a great party space as well.
It's a school night, but the party starts at 7pm (that's 19 Uhr to you Germans in the corner) and goes until 2 am for those that can afford a later start the next day. Let's get a Netzwerk crowd, remember our past Jeckedelphia's and the Jeckedelphia's yet to come. (Oh, the Germanity!).
There is no cover charge/entry fee - so low barriers to fun.
If you think you can be there - let us know and RSVP so we get a sense of who to look for in the crowd. You can RSVP on our web site here:

See you there!
