NOSHA Winter Solstice Party ~ HumanLight 2013

  • December 14, 2013 · 4:00 PM
  • Caribbean Blue Holiday House

In lieu of our regular monthly meeting, please join us for our annual festive Winter Solstice party to celebrate the holidays! It is our time to enjoy good friends, good food and goodwill, so we welcome all supporters of our organization to join in the fun!

(Please note that this event will be held on the second Saturday of the month instead of the third.)

This will be a potluck event, so we are asking all guests to bring a dish to share. Please RSVP via email to [masked] to advise that you will attend and what you plan to bring from the following suggestions:

• Favorite entree

• Appetizers

• Salads - tossed green, fruit, pasta, etc.

• Sides - vegetables, potatoes, etc.

• Fruits, cheeses, crackers

Desserts

As part of our HumanLight participation, we'll once again collect canned goods and other non-perishable foods for Second Harvest Food Bank. Please take a look at their list here to put together your donation bag.

HumanLight is a celebration of "a Humanist's vision of a good future." We celebrate a positive approach to the coming new year through the lens of secular humanism.

This year, we'll also enjoy musical entertainment provided by NOSHA member and Quarter Rat Pack singer, Marshall Harris.

*** Please be sure to RSVP so our host will have an accurate count for her preparation. Many thanks to NOSHA Board Member, Beth Deitch, for opening her home to our friends!

Thanks to everyone who came, and brought such tasty food. It was great to see some new people, as well as all of you whom I already know and love -- I only wish there had been time for me to talk to everyone!

And a great big THANK YOU to everyone who helped clean up afterward!!! Made short work of a big job!

Oh also: I'd appreciate people posting any good pictures they took. I realized after the party that I'd been so busy I completely forgot to take a single photo!

Really over the top! Everyone seemed to have a smashing time and we are really happy that it was so successful....and on a rain day! Many thanks to Beth for hosting our event at her wonderful home. We are grateful for her donation of time and energy and to Rose, Jim, Ricky, William and Peter for your help with setting up! We also thank everyone who brought food to share and donations for Second Harvest. These contributions make all the difference.

The internet is being weird....I ended up liking the comments multiple times! Anyways, it is decided, I will bring samosas and some green cilantro chutney and maybe the brown sweet chutney too to go with them.
