New Providence Writers Meeting

Meetings for the New Providence Writers' Group are now scheduled the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, from 2pm to 4:30pm.

Bring a piece to workshop, up to 1500 words, any genre OK, including query letters etc. Make as many copies as the number of people coming to the meeting.

Note: If more than 8 people show up to this meeting, we may (or may not) divide the meeting into two groups to allow everybody enough time to present their piece and receive feedback.

Please arrive by 2pm because we try to begin promptly and finalize the decision to split into two tables at that time.

    Hi Sidney,
Today was your last day in the group. You are going out of the country. I feel very sad that you will not be there with your knife sharp critical feed back. I always wondered how good you are in critiquing.
I heard your writing. It was very good. So you put in your writings what you tell others.

I hope you will come back to the group as soon as you return to USA. Keep writing and keep us in your thoughts.
    best of luck
    Harish

I will be out of the country this Sunday. I am eager to read the rest of the ten stories I wrote 10 years ago. They are a free flowing experiences and observations of a side eyed innocent. and reluctant immigrant who plans to be here to get a graduate degree but gets too enamoured of America to leave. I write about the pain and loss associated with the process , as well as the exhilaration of discovering a new culture . I like the way I wrote it and keep adjusting based on feedback. I also feel there are many writers of Indian origin who who write well. I wants voice and style to stay as is. Too late to change. I think looked at as a whole it wills is more sense. All the same I am getting do much out of the group and cannot think all of you enough for listening and the suggestions. Jeet.
