Sacred Poetry - Study Group

In this Sacred Poetry - Study Group, we will read and discuss a variety of “Sacred Poetry”, poems that points us toward “Oneness, Wholeness and Mystery”.  Among the poets we will explore are:  Rumi, Ryokan, Li Po, Rilke, Basho, Antonia Machado, Hafiz, Chuang Tzu and many others.

No previous experience or knowledge necessary.  If you have favorite poems or poets, please bring their work with to share.  The more poems we have to share, the richer the experience will be. Otherwise, we will provide copies of most of the poems for each session.

Time and Place: All Souls Unitarian Church 80th Street and Lexington Ave. (down stairs meeting room) 7:00 pm sharp, come at least by 6:45. Fridays – Dec 6th, 13th, 20th and the 27th. You can come to any session, they are not consecutive. These are Free events. Please RSVP, so we know how many people are coming, [masked]

We usually end around 8:30 but people tend to stay longer and chat.

“If someone has experienced the wisdom that can only be heard from oneself, learned from oneself, and created from oneself, he does not merely participate in laughter, he becomes laughter itself.”  Philo of Alexandria
