Special Meetup: SilverStripe CMS (arrive early)

This location is shown only to members

First, thanks to everyone who kicked off our new Beer Review format at the last meet-up. Once things got rolling the discussion and feedback was valuable and well received for everyone present. There are a couple of points though that we can all do to make the meetings even better:

-- please arrive on-time (before 6:30pm)
-- seating is limited - only RSVP if you truly plan on attending

Our May meet-up is May 14th so that we can welcome special guest Sigurd Magnusson of the SilverStripe CMS from New Zealand.

SilverStripe is a user friendly and open source CMS that has an objected oriented MVC architecture, and was used last year by the Democratic Party to power one of their main campaign websites.

SilverStripe is hitting the USA East coast in May, with co-founder Sigurd Magnusson keen to meet developers and organizations interested in our software and business. You will get to learn the story behind SilverStripe, influence our upcoming decisions, ask pointed questions, and get a preview of new features!

And FREE beer and d'oeuvres will be served - thank you to SilverStripe for sponsoring this meetup!

Sigurd will take about 30 minutes to review the CMS and then do Q&A with the group. Then, time permitting, we'll move onto our Beer Review segment, with 5-10 minute topics from our community. Here's the breakdown:

6:15pm - 6:30pm - Networking and topic submission
6:30pm - 7:00pm - Silverstripe CMS
7:00pm - 7:30pm - Beer Review topic discussion

We have reserved a private backroom at a restaurant, with an LCD, free wireless, and seating for about 40 people.

Presentation topics:
-- general questions/answers about PHP or anything AMP
-- review/analysis of a problem or existing solution

Come prepared with your presentation topic!

Please arrive by 6:30pm and if you have a topic you'd like to discuss, arrive prior to 6:30pm.

Also don't forget to subscribe to NYPHP's mailing lists for other announcements, technical support and discussion, and more:

Thanks all and looking forward to May.

Hi Jennifer - yeah this Thursday switch is one time only since Sigurd is coming in from New Zealand. Definitely try to make it - SilverStripe has some great technology and it'll be an exciting meetup!

Hans, you changed the meetup date--not Tuesday evening anymore!??? Not knowing this, I had registered myself for a seminar series on Thursday evenings. I will see whether I could make some special arrangements about the conflicting May 14th metup/seminar . . . as I would like to learn about SilverStripers CMS. I wanted to RSVP "Maybe" but it's not an option this time.
