Agile Certification:PMI-ACP -- November 2013 NEW Agile User Group Meeting

As agile methods become mainstream, the certification landscape is expanding as well. Agile certifications provide a means for individuals to showcase their expertise and/or knowledge in an agile role or methodology. During this conversation we will briefly look at some popular agile certifications and then go on to explore one of them, the PMI-ACP, in detail. Attendees will learn:

• What is PMI-ACP?

• Should I get certified?

• Contrast ACP to PMP

• Prerequisites and Exam content

• What to focus on?

• How to prepare?

• Resources to help you along in your journey.

Bio: Biju David, is a PMI certified project management professional and an agile certified practitioner. For the last 7 years he has been leading technology project teams using both waterfall and agile methodologies at Humana. Biju is part of the PMI’s Agile Community of Practice and its ACP Support Team that is developing the ACP Community Guide, intended to be the ‘go to’ source of reference for the PMI-ACP certification. He is also a volunteer instructor for the northeast WI chapter of PMI and the Humana PMP Prep courses that help prepare students for their PMP certification.

As always, there will be plenty of time for group discussion regarding this topic as well as an open floor to all attendees to ask questions/share Agile experiences with the group.

I thought the meeting provided exactly what I was looking for. I would be interested in getting the slide presentation if possible so that I have the importance order of the 10 toolkits and 43 knowledge skills to aid with studying. Great presentation!
