I have booked a table at Saigon Sally!
With Prahran’s Hanoi Hannah bursting at the seams round-the-clock, it seems only natural that the boys behind the iconic Vietnamese eatery have chosen to open another kitchen.
Dubbed as Hannah’s “slightly more mature yet promiscuous older sister”, Saigon Sally offers locals a more refined selection of Vietnamese favourites, without compromising on affordability and fun. Expect a well-oiled machine managing the new eatery, with classically trained legend Adrian Li (ex-Donovan’s) as head chef, alongside bartender Tom Stonnill (ex-Transit cocktail lounge).
Saigon Sally celebrates authentic family food designed for sharing. Think Banh Xeo (a DIY taco version of the Vietnamese pancake) and Bun Reiu, a tomato and spanner crab broth with enoki and rice noodles. Alongside these Vietnamese classics, regional fusions will also be up for grabs, such as the grilled quail stuffed with sticky rice and Chinese sausage.
With a live dessert station in action, the glamorous tira-mi-sally (Vietnamese coffee ice cream in a coconut macaroon sandwich) promises happy endings for all.
