REFUGE DAY: Sunday Service, Meditation and Fellowship

"Shelter from the Storm-

Everyone wants to feel confident and safe, yet the world seems full of uncertainty. We often feel an underlying insecurity about our situation. As a result we seek shelter or protection in a number of places and things that only seem to offer temporary relief from our mental and physical pain.

Buddha taught that there are reliable sources of protection that we can seek refuge in: the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma & Sangha. In this course we will learn how to take refuge in the three jewels; Buddha - the source of our spiritual instructions, Dharma - the actual teachings and the inner experiences of these teachings, and Sangha - the spiritual community that supports our spiritual practice.

At the end of the session there will be an opportunity to take the Mahayana Refuge Vows, in a special Refuge Vow Ceremony. You can take the vows at whatever level you wish, from "just exploring" to becoming a Buddhist or renewing your vows. We can never have too many blessings!

Everyone welcome! Donation $10 ($5 students). No one turned away for lack of funds.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
