There is a very interesting lecture at LSE next week that some of you may be interested in: http://www.lse.ac.uk/publicEvents/events/2013/10/20131008t1830vHKT.aspx
Mariana Mazzucato, is an economics professor at the University of Sussex, an the author of The Entrepreneurial State: debunking private vs. public sector myths.
She also featured in this Economist article I read a few weeks ago about the role government plays is creative innovation: http://www.economist.com/news/business/21584307-new-book-points-out-big-role-governments-play-creating-innovative-businesses
Almost an continuation of the discussion some of us were having in the pub about whether it is necessary to innovate. Tickets are free and are on a first come, first served basis.
I'm also trying to book the Shooting Star for another debate as the venue seems to work well for most people. The 29th and 30th of Oct are the two options available but waiting to hear back from the pub. Will keep you posted!
